After Odillia’s chart-topping debut hit ‘End of the World’ (ft. Lil’ Keed) earlier this year, she’s back with another iconic collaboration – this time with the D-O-double-G, Snoop Dogg!
Born in the Netherlands, Odillia left home at 16 to follow her dreams of becoming a pop sensation. After finding success through the BBC talent show ‘All Together Now’, she relocated to LA where she landed her record deal with Will Luke’s ‘Lukevision’.
Discussing her latest collaboration, she shares that ‘Break It Down’ explores the ups and downs of a relationship.
“I write all of my own songs. They are all based on things I have personally experienced or the experiences of people in my life. Sometimes, when two people are in a relationship but not on the same page, there comes that moment of honestly where they just have to break it down and say what it is they want or don’t want from each other. I’m excited to play off those emotions in a back and forth with Snoop with beautiful Aruba as the backdrop of the story.”
Travelling over cool synths and a light summery air, ‘Break It Down’ is an accessible, radio-friendly pop track that wouldn’t be out of place on the shores of Love Island. The chilled atmosphere perfectly conjures up the imagery of a warm, white sand beached paired with cocktails and dancing. With Odillias delicate vocals paired with Snoop Dogg’s notorious verses, ‘Break It Down’ is set to be a solid crowd pleaser.
Currently working on her debut EP ‘Misfit 21’ and collaborating with Netherlands-based producers, her upcoming EP is rumoured to hold a combination of stylistic avenues and explorative genres. Keep up to date with Odillia and stream ‘Break It Down’ below!
